About the education program

The 3D Digital Artist / 3D Game Artist program is organised in association with our educational board, which includes representatives of major Danish and international 3D companies. 3D Digital Artist / 3D Game Artist are education programs for those who want to work creatively, innovatively and analytically with 3D productions. Students of these programs graduate with a set of skills and level of expertise that are highly sought after within the 3D industry.  Students* of the education are entitled to financial support from the government (called SU in Denmark). 

• The main focus of the education programs is the creative and artistic aspects combined with all-round production knowledge.
• The education program is designed to develop the student’s creative skills within 3D computer graphics and animation.
• The education program takes 3 years to complete and is composed of 6 semesters, each of which is 22 weeks in duration. Five of these semesters take place at TRUEMAX academy Copenhagen and the last semester is job training/internship within the Danish industry or at an international company.
• Our instructors have been recruited from leading companies such as Pixar, DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Ubisoft Massive, EA Games and many more.
• Tuition is conducted in English in the 3D Digital Artist / 3D Game Artist programs.
• Each semester includes the statutory holidays during each individual semester.
• TRUEMAX academy's 3D Digital Artist / 3D Game Artist education starts once a year in September.
• Our modular education programs are geared so students gradually learn to master 3D software features and 3D production processes on a high level, in addition to developing their artistic talent.
• The students graduate with a level of expertise and set of skills that are highly sought after within the 3D industry.

Current Instructor

Darren Thomas Darren Thomas has experience in many areas of the 3D business including Computer gaming, visualization and most recently the advertising sector. As a Lead Artist & Associate Producer, Darren has contributed to the release of over eight PC Titles, two of which were nominated for BAFTA’s. Whilst working in automotive visualization Darren gained extensive experience in working closely with clients, providing troubleshooting and consultation services. He has also run training workshops for some of the world’s most prestigious car companies such as Bentley Motors. Darren has also worked on many global advertising campaigns for some of the world’s largest international advertising agencies.
