Introduction to Maya

 

  • To teach Maya to new beginners or people already competent in other 3D programs
  • 8 weeks course - 09:00 - 15:00 - Monday to Friday

What does the course offer?
The course begins with intensive work consisting of both theory and practical application. The practical side of the course gives the student hands-on experience with the Maya program’s techniques. Modelling, Rigging, Skinning, Mental Ray materials, etc.


What are the course objectives?
To give the student a fundamental insight into Maya as well as the necessary competence to work independently and innovatively. By taking this course you will expand your working possibilities within the industry.

What are the requirements?
It is necessary to have prior knowledge of 3D computer graphics and animation, and have a good understanding of 3ds max or a similar program. In order to begin taking the Introduction to Maya course it is necessary to have at least our 3D Digital Artist education or be working within the industry using 3ds max or similar. (XSI, Blender etc.)

The Instructor

 

LeeGriggs


Lee Griggs has worked in 3D production for the last 15 years. He has worked in areas such as TV, film, game cinematics, aec, automotive and product design.

He worked as a rendering specialist at ARTVPS for 8 years, servicing and training companies worldwide using 3ds max and Maya.

In 2004, he was nominated as a Maya Master.

His animation 'swirl' was accepted for the Electronic and Animation Theaters at Siggraph in 2007.
